Rex and Sherese Glendenning met in 1979 as students at North Texas State University, now known as the University of North Texas. Rex had just completed a four-year stint playing football at Linebacker for the Mean Green and Hall of Fame Coach, Hayden Fry. They were married in 1984 and chose to settle down in Rex’s hometown of Celina, Texas. While growing up in Celina, Rex worked from a young age on the family’s dry land farming operation that also included cattle ranching. The Glendenning Family, one of the earliest settlers of Celina, immigrated from Scotland around the turn of the century.
Sherese, on the other hand, grew up in the suburbs of North Dallas in Richardson, Texas. After moving to Celina and going through a bit of adjustment, settled into Country living and now cannot understand why anyone would want to live in the city.
Their place on 20 acres blossomed through the years with the addition of three children and a small herd of Longhorns. They were able to expand and now enjoy a larger ranch along with their family growing with the addition of four beautiful granddaughters, who are their pride and joy, along with many, many magnificent Texas Longhorns.
